Specializing in the Indian Power Sector

Target Market - INDIA

India's giant emerging economy has averaged one of the fastest GDP growths in recent years and is expected to continue to do so in the coming decades. Yet, India is the most critically power deficient country, posting the lowest per capita electricity consumption rates in the world. All of India’s major metropolitan centres (over 5M in population), thousands of mid-sized cities (3M-5M in population), tens of thousands of smaller towns and hundreds of thousands of villages still experiencing daily black-outs and brown-outs.

India has a growing middle class of over 250 million, one of the largest in the world, whose consumption levels are expected to quadruple over the next 20 years, including the demand for electricity.

India has an installed capacity of approximately 150,000MW currently. It will need to double that, and double that again, to fulfill its potential in becoming the third largest economy in the world, after the U.S. and China.

Therefore India is Canasia’s foremost target market for power infrastructure development.
